Sustainable Knitwear

Thinking G Sustainable Knitwear Fabrics

The materials we choose to fabricate our clothes from are fundamental to honour our brand values. We collaborate with luxury brands and clothing manufacturers by buying from them yarn deadstock which they don’t plan to use anymore. The amount we buy varies from 800 g to 5 kg per yarn, which can be considered a leftover in the scale of big production but it is a pure treasure for us. Sometimes it is enough to create only one model, meaning you can be a happy owner of a unique piece.
We work with natural fabrics such as cashmere, merino wool, alpaca and their blends, cotton and recycled cotton.
We avoid aggressive tinting by choosing more natural colours for our models.

Thinking G Sustainable Knitwear Production

Together with our team of knitters we produce our sustainable knitted garments in Portugal and Ukraine. It takes from 22 to 50 hours of precise and dedicated work to create a handmade knitted piece. Either it is a full time job for some knitters or a part time activity for others, we are happy to support their manual work by paying them a fare rate.

Thinking G Sustainable Knitwear Labels

We support our sustainable knitwear concept with using eco-friendly 100% cotton labels.

Thinking G Sustainable Knitwear Packaging

We use plant based 100% biodegradable packaging for our sustainable knitwear. Biodegradable refers to the ability of materials to break down and return to nature. The biodegradable packaging completely breaks down and decomposes into natural elements within a short period of time after disposal – typically a year or less.
Another reason we choose to use biodegradable packaging:
– to reduce amount of material used;
– to use space efficiently when packaging and delivering products as a way to reduce net carbon emissions.
